In February 2010, YDSP participants had the opportunity to visit Asia’s largest aerospace and defence exhibition – the Singapore Airshow 2010 (SA10)!
Despite the simmering heat, they seized the chance to clamour aboard the aircraft to learn about their features, and to glean nuggets of information about the technologies that drive their development.
Excitement levels rose when the air display started and students crowded in DSTA's hospitality chalet for the best possible view. For many of them, watching the various aircraft soaring high above and performing aerial acrobatics was an unforgettable experience that was peppered with many excited “oohs” and “ahhs”.
Sun Mengyuan from Hwa Chong Institution said: “Through the visit, I found out more about Singapore’s air defence and technological developments. I would really like to work in this industry in the future.”
